The people of Bengaluru have a genuine curiosity for new experiences, different from other cities, states director and playwright Roysten Abel. In collaboration with renowned percussionist Ranjit Barot, Roysten is preparing to present an innovative audio-visual performance entitled "Beat Route." The show will feature 10 expert folk percussionists from Rajasthan and Kerala, promising an "earthy, high-spirited electro experience" for the audiences in the city this weekend. Roysten emphasizes the importance of creating a fresh and enjoyable experience for both himself and his team without it feeling forced or contrived. He finds the process of crafting something unique particularly thrilling when working alongside talented musicians who are encountering a novel approach for the first time. Roysten shares insights from a recent conversation:

"Theatre remains appealing to younger audiences as it holds a broader appeal than other forms of entertainment. Even amidst the rise of cinema and the dominance of social media, theatre continues to attract attention. The challenge lies in capturing the interest of individuals with shorter attention spans. I am focused on developing my distinct style of music, which may be perceived as experimental by some, but for me, it is about exploring new horizons."

Roysten Abel derives inspiration from his personal life experiences when facing the unique challenges presented by each new production. By staying true to his individual musical vision and avoiding imitation, he aims to create fresh and engaging performances that resonate with both himself and the audience. While his approach may be unconventional to some, Roysten views it as an opportunity to push boundaries and innovate. The event will take place at the Chowdiah Memorial Hall on October 5th at 5 pm.
